Why Applying At AIU?

AIU aims to provide educational excellence thereby preparing its students for leadership and service through instructional programs and extracurricular activities.

  •  AIU curriculum will integrate the liberal arts core curriculum that guide each student toward attaining a broad background in a variety of disciplines as a foundation to his or her eventual profession

First Time Application to Africa International University

AIU’s admission will be based on the strength of student’s high school background, including the degree of difficulty of major selected and record of academic achievement. AIU will also take into account student’s profile and special talents in and outside of the classroom. To be admitted as a first time AIU student, applicants must have graduated from an accredited secondary school.

Academic Year / Semester Schedule

An academic year at AIU will consist of two 18-week semesters.

  •  Harmathan semester will begin in January and end in May
  •  Noel semester will begin in August and end in December  

Submitting AIU Application

As AIU’s application will be highly demanding compared to other higher education institutions in Africa, applicants are advised to begin the process earlier. Potential applicants will be required to submit the following to AIU Office of Undergraduate Admissions:

  •  an application for admission,
  • a non-refundable (to be determined)application fee,
  • an official high school transcript,
  • two to three letters of recommendation
  • an essay stating your educational and career goal
  • an AIU application.

Africa International University (AIU) Foundation is a non-profit, publicly supported US corporation as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. Africa International University will admit students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students of the school.

AIU Foundation has no political affiliations in US or abroad. AIU will work with all interested parties in achieving its educational mission in Africa. Contributions to AIU Foundation may be tax deductible under the Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code.
