Significance of AIU Seal PDF Print E-mail

AIU Seal

Great consideration was taken in the development of the university’s seal (official logo).  We wanted the seal to be a visual representation of AIU’s mission statement and values.  In the official school logo, there are several key components that, combined, deliver the message of our mission:

  • Pick axe The pick axe represents hard work and turmoil.  By providing quality education to citizens of an underdeveloped society, AIU can help to reduce turmoil and replace physical labor with higher level jobs.

  • Quill pen The quill pen represents art and writing, knowledge and creativity.  By providing quality curriculum incorporating the arts and sciences, AIU provides the stimuli for students to extend classroom knowledge to create programs to better African society.

  • Book The book represents the world being open to discovery and the seeking of knowledge.  AIU facilitates this knowledge to better the well-being of African society and beyond.

  • “Excellence”, “vision”, and “distinction”    These descriptors directly represent AIU’s mission.
