Africa International University

Africa International University (AIU) is a private, nonprofit university to be established no later than 2015 in the country of Benin in West Africa. The rationale behind the AIU concept is twofold: 1. To improve the quality of education in social sciences, information technology, and business instruction in Africa, and 2. To significantly expand enrollment levels in these areas

Africa International University will be poised to meet the explosive demand for higher education among the young African population. AIU will offer its students a total education solution - “students first” methodology - that will enable students to view their education, not as a pressure or burden, but as a way of emancipation, a way that can enable one to make a difference in this world.

To a large extent, many public African universities have failed to remain relevant in a rapidly changing world as a disproportionate number of students graduate in the humanities rather than in the fields of science and engineering. The alternative of sending African students abroad is too expensive for the majority of Africans.

Vision and Mission

Our vision is to provide students with an exceptional education by accrediting the university’s programs, through hiring exceptional teachers and staff, and by offering extracurricular activities and amenities that add value to the student’s education experience.

Africa International University will provide educational excellence thereby preparing its students for leadership and service through instructional programs and extracurricular activities that:

Develop skills in oral and written communications, analytical and critical thinking, and interpersonal relationships;
Foster an understanding and appreciation for the elements and evolution of various cultures;
Foster an understanding and appreciation for the specific knowledge and skills needed in the pursuit of professional careers and advanced degrees; and
Cultivate personal attributes of self-confidence, tolerance, morality, ethical behavior, humility, a global perspective, and a commitment to social justice.
